Where’s Wall*E

You may have seen this floating around the interwebs, but if not, enjoy this fantastic collection of pop-culture robots while trying to find Wall*E.

In addition, you can try to find these other Disney and Disney-related ‘bots: The Black Hole’s Maximillion and Vincent; C3PO; Eve; Buzz Lightyear of Star Command’s XR; R2D2; Tik Tok from Return to Oz; Mo; Weebo from Flubber; Carl from Meet the Robinsons and a battle droid from Star Wars among others.

Plus, you get Frenzy from Transformers; the killer from Wizards; a small bot from Heavy Metal; Muffit from Battlestar Gallactica; Phil from Heartbeeps; Twiggy from Buck Rogers; Tom Servo; the bots from Silent Running; The Tin Man; Cyclons; a robot cop from THX-1138; Bill and Ted; Bender; a Dalek; Jimmy Neutron’s dog; both Lost in Space robots; Ultraman; both Marvins from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Wheatly from the video game Portal. Disney and Pixar Facebook Profile Pictures

There are a handful of  silhouettes of famous characters out there based on the anonymous profile pic you get when you sign up for Facebook, even a Mickey one. I’ve being playing with these in my off hours here and there and wanted to post and see what you thought.

Tuesday Daily Disney

Some very interesting Disney things floating in the ether this week. Enjoy.

Lids hats have some new Disney items to cheer on your favorite baseball team. With plenty of pink ones for those of you who like pink hats. I’m showing a Mets hat, though it pains me, as a kudo to my friend John Cropp, who might be the biggest Mets/Disney fan and former cast member I’ve ever known. Click here for the link.

IO9 posted an interesting piece about some of Disney’s stranger educational films. Check it out here.

More behind the scenes of Star Wars from The Chive. Warning, The Chive isn’t for everyone.

Thanks to my friend Julie McKillip for sharing this great muppet shirt design with me.

A short piece about Disney Character names here.

Friday Daily Disney

Keeping my mouse ears to the internets finding the Disney and Disney-related items you may not be seeing anywhere else. Enjoy!

We’ll kick things off with some behind the scene movie pics from ‘Return of the Jedi’ and ‘Raider of the Lost Ark’

There’s a recent trend online that puts Star Wars vehicles into Earthly settings. More here.

Hipster Pleakley is hip.

And some of the best Disney tattoos I’ve seen in a while.

Until next time…

Disney California Adventure Photo Report!!!

Just Off Main Street regular visitor Sarah Bagley vacationed at the Disneyland Resort in California recently and shared some great photos of some of the new attractions at Disney’s California Adventure. Many, many thanks to Sarah for reaching out and sharing her visit with us!!!

The new Little Mermaid adventure dark ride is getting rave reviews. Looks like we’re in for a treat when the Walt Disney World version opens next year.

The new gate. Looks familiar no?

Cars Land looks to be one of the more exciting additions to the parks Disney fans have seen in a long time.

Some signage around the park for coming attractions:

Goofy’s Sky School. A lots been mentioned online that this is just a cheap off-the-shelf coaster (meaning it wasn’t designed for the park) with a facade, but reports are coming in that it is in fact a lot of fun!

The Mickey Wheel. Note all the infrastructure for the World of Color in the foreground.

What might be my favorite new addition, Redwood Creek. Where you can earn your Wilderness Explorer badges! My mom will be tickled.

Silly Symphonies Swing. DCA has gone out of its way to honor Disney’s earliest creations and projects.

And lastly, Toy Story Mania, currently the longest wait on both coasts. I’ve still not ridden it.

My heartfelt thanks to Sarah and her family for sharing these pictures with me and in turn, you. I encourage you to send in your Disney pics to share down the road, and as always…

August 5 Daily Disney

Just back from our Nation’s Capitol for a few days, where I of course found some Disney love which I talked about here.

But I also ran across a few interesting items on the interwebs while I was gone. Ready? Here we go…

If you’ve ever enjoyed the Luau at the Polynesian resort you know how yummy the food is. Now, you can enjoy a little part at home by making this recipe of the salad dressing served at the meal. Click here for details.

Going on vacation with an infant can be trying, there are many things you may never even think of that you may take for granted at home. Something I’ve would never have thought of is where to breastfeed your child while at Disney. As a breastfeeding advocate, I was happy to run across this blog post with some good ideas for taking a break while in the parks to feed your child. Click here to have a look.

A friend posted this picture on Facebook of a sand Woody from her trip to Sea Pines Beach Club in Hilton Head, SC. Thanks Dree!

A fantastic piece of art showcasing two of our favorite Disney related swamp dwellers, Kermit and Yoda, by Peter De Seve. You can check more of his work here.

Some tattooed Disney Princess’ here by Tim Shumate. Link.

Here’s your Disney tattoos this week. Source here and here.
