Are you a Disney Princess?

May the 4th be with you

Tuesday Daily Disney

Some very interesting Disney things floating in the ether this week. Enjoy.

Lids hats have some new Disney items to cheer on your favorite baseball team. With plenty of pink ones for those of you who like pink hats. I’m showing a Mets hat, though it pains me, as a kudo to my friend John Cropp, who might be the biggest Mets/Disney fan and former cast member I’ve ever known. Click here for the link.

July 27 Daily Disney

Hi friends. It’s been a long since I’ve posted due to silly things like work, my Mac failing, travel and everyday life. But I’ve gathered some interesting items over the past weeks, so let’s dive in.

On another note, when my computer failed, I lost all my bookmarks, so I’m not sure where most of the items came from. But if you really want to know where to find something, let me know. I’ll do what I can to track down the source for you.

Daily Disney (it’s been awhile…)

Dear readers, I apologize for the delay. Clearly my day-job got too busy for me to keep up. I’m discovering in the Disney blogosphere, you miss a day, you miss a lot. I see bloggers tweeting about posts several times a day, sometimes with something new, sometimes repeating old news or posts. Frankly, I have a hard time wading through it all. Always, my goal was to talk about some interesting Disney news and facts, interview some former cast members and see where it went. And whereas I’ve meet some amazing people and even gotten some work out of it, I question why bothering to do it. Am I doing anything special or different to share my love of the Disney Parks? Should I be? Or should I even worry about it? Time will tell and will dictate the direction. In the meantime, I’ll continue posting stuff I find interesting and fun to read, I hope you continue to follow along…

On with the show!

Alderaan weather forecast. Awesome.

IRL Woody. Not sure where I found this, but I bet it was at http://www.deviantart.com.

Snow White Anime from The Chive.

Disney princesses as Jedi warriors. Sweet.

Blackbeard 'welcomes' guests to Pirates of the Caribbean. Word is he'll spend the Summer and then Davy Jones will return.

More fun on Splash Mountain. I should have a contest to find the funniest ride photo.

Every time I see this, I laugh. And check out the woman in the back, I guess she's there to review your taxes.

And some fresh Disney tattoos:

More to come!!

Friday Daily Disney

Updates are slow coming, but we’re committed to bringing you interesting Disney updates that you may not see anywhere else. So, let’s not waste time and get right into it…

Some cool Boba Fett font art

20110526-061245.jpg

I have got to get one of these! Haven’t seen this online yet for purchase. If you see one in the parks, let me know.

20110526-061601.jpg

Who doesn’t love some crayon art. By color even.

20110527-064635.jpg

A new pin featuring Dug from ‘Up’ inside the world of ‘Tron’ complete with ID disc. Last I checked these were sold out at Disneystore.com, so the parks are your best bet.

And some new Disney tattoos, leading off with what may be my favorite Disney tattoo I’ve seen so far, a cool sketch of Mike and Sully!

Wednesday Disney

Why, hello there Disney fans. When you have literally dozens of readers, like yours truly, you are expected to update your blog regulary. Alas, work intrudes, so the updates are fewer. But fear not! I’ve got two interviews I’m working on now, both are fabulous. Yeah, I said fabulous. That’s how I roll.

In the meantime, chew on some fresh Disney, and Disney-related, news, photos and awesomeness.

We kick things off with the new ‘Muppet Movie’ teaser poster. Thanks to Jim over at Jim Hill Media for the heads up.

Some news on the game front, Nintendo World Report reports seeing a new Disney MMPG title for the Wii called ‘Disney Universe’ on Amazon.com. I checked, and the link is gone from Amazon, but I trust the source, so you should too. Play as Tron or Stitch, I’m so there…

Before animatronics, vacuforming and high-res scanning devices, costumes were made using clothe, plastic and some serious hard work. However, there are many of you that remember when Disney park characters lacked a certain ‘I-don’t-know-what.’ Check ’em out here.

My friend Amy at athenienne.tumbler.com finds awesome stuff. Today, she found the above comic cover from the talented folks at Planet Pulp. I think I love the use of Presto DiGiotagione even more than seeing Flick. And please read her blog often. She seems to like Dr. Who…

Excellent Splash Mountain photobomb.

A week ago or so, I twitted about seeing an epic mullet walking to my car after work. Andrew Crawford, @all_or_nothing on Twitter, one-uped me and gave me a photo of the rare ‘Disney Mullet.’ Bask in its flat-top, pony tail glory…

No Disney tattoos this week, if you’ve got one, show me. But in honor of Star Tours 2.0 opening soon, here’s some Boba Fett goodness…

Friday Daily Disney

Hello all. We lead off today with a an announcement: today is my 16th wedding anniversary to my lovely bride Jenny! We met in SoCal, so of course I immediately took her on a date to Disneyland. We waited until our daughter was 3 to go back to Disney World, but we haven’t stopped since. The photo is from our February trip with my favorite, Stitch. Happy Anniversary dear. Love you.

Keith Richards returns to the POTC as Jack’s father, Captain Teague. This has been reported as the first look at Richards, but I’m not sure. He popped up in the first teaser trailer. Image here. Thanks to Stitchkingdom.com for the image. More photos here.

Above is what we’re told is the new Blu-Ray box for Star Wars: The Complete Saga. The set, released on September 16 of this year, will feature all 6 films plus over 40 hours of extras. More here. I’ll just say one thing: this box art is not how you say ‘good.’

These adorable Mickey and Minnie ‘cake pops’ were found on Etsy today. Cute! More here.

A great blog post from Mouse Planet about pet peeves in the Disney Parks. While I tend to turn a blind eye to a lot of these, kids are kids and when you load them up on sugar and throw ’em into an amusement park, they’re bound to be a little hyper, I did agree with a few of them. The enormo-backpacks are a pain, especially in line for Big Thunder Mountain. But mine would be the ‘It Used to be Better’ people. I know ‘Alien Encounter’ was awesome, and I miss the Sky Buckets too, but I love Stitch and my daughter likes ‘Great Escape.’ Fantasyland NEEDS to be expanded, and frankly, ‘Test Track’ is fraking awesome. You changed over the past 20 years, why shouldn’t Disney?

Happy Birthday to the Norway Pavilion at Epcot, opening this day in 1988. I love this Pavilion! A great ride, fantastic food, beer and what I’m told from female friends at work, the cutest guys in Epcot.

And your wicked-awesome Disney tattoo of the day

Wednesday Daily Disney

Not much Disney news today that everyone else has covered to death, so here’s some stuff I bet you didn’t see anywhere else…

An excellent interview with a Haunted Mansion Cast Member here.

The Florida 'love bugs' are back.

And some Disney tattoos for your enjoyment:

This one is from my home town of Athens, GA. Click on the image to see some fantastic tattoo ink.

Monday Disney

We lead off with this year’s Stars Wars Weekends poster.

I don’t post a lot about new Vinylmations, but this new set is astounding. It’s the Vinylmations Bento Box, complete with ginger, wasabi and chopsticks. More here.

New Summer movie toys were previewed over the weekend, including Cars 2 and POTC. More here.

A LEGO Captain Jack from the LEGO Store in New York City.

Pirate Brands has introduced a line of products to tie-in with the new POTC movie. Proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

I stumbled onto these beautiful Disney shots on Flickr. More here.

Behind the Scenes of the first TMNT movie with Jim Henson. Henson’s workshop designed the animatronic heads.
